Cardiff City’s decision to appoint Aaron Ramsey as manager until the end of the season has been brandished ‘weird’ by one club legend.
Ramsey was appointed as caretaker boss until the end of the season, replacing Omer Riza after he left Cardiff embroiled in a Championship relegation battle.
As it stands, the Bluebirds will be relegated to League One, currently sitting 23rd with only three games remaining.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |

It’s a huge task for Ramsey, who has challenged his players to be ‘energetic’ when they face Oxford United, buy one former Cardiff star has questioned the appointment.

Robert Earnshaw uninspired by Aaron Ramsey appointment
Robert Earnshaw is a man adored in the Welsh capital and played for the club across two spells between 1998-2004 and 2011-2013.
Earnshaw played with Ramsey for Wales at international level but despite wishing his former teammate the best, has concerns that the club have made the wrong appointment.

“It’s a bit of a weird decision,” he told BBC Radio Wales.
“From my point of view, Rambo [Ramsey], Chris Gunter [Ramsey’s assistant], those are brilliant guys, those two have got bright futures, I think they’re brilliant guys.
“But I just thought, from the club, it was very unfair to put Rambo, as a player right now, injured, in charge and say to him ‘get us out of trouble’.
“I hope Ramsey can do it. He wants to become a coach, I know he’s been working at it. He definitely would have woken up on Saturday morning not expecting a call to say ‘do you want to take the team?’. That is very unusual.
“It just shows a bunch of bad decisions from the club.”
Who are Cardiff City’s final fixtures against?
There’s no time for Ramsey to get his feet under the table and get familiar with the role as Cardiff bid to hang on to their Championship status.
A home game against Oxford kicks off his tenure before two more huge games follow.
Their final home game of the season is against a West Bromwich Albion side still within touching distance of a play-off place before rounding off their campaign against Norwich City.
A huge run of games awaits the former Arsenal star. If he pulls it off, he cements his Cardiff legacy. Failure to do so and fingers will be pointed at the hierarchy for putting him in such a difficult position.
