Sheffield Wednesday have been the big talking story of the Championship this summer, but for all the wrong reasons, as the club’s off-the-pitch struggles have continued, and in recent days the Owls have been the subject of a number of high-profile takeover bids.
Danny Rohl helped guide the club to a midtable finish despite everything that had been going on off the pitch, and the German has made it clear he has had enough at Hillsborough.
Fans are disillusioned with the current ownership under Dejphon Chansiri, with financial issues and questionable communication causing animosity.

However, the owner has broken his silence and has released a statement regarding the recent takeover approaches and bids for Sheffield Wednesday.

What Dejphon Chansiri said about the Sheffield Wednesday takeover
Dejphon Chansiri has opened up about the Sheffield Wednesday takeover, releasing a statement through the club website.
The owner said: “You will be aware that an initial offer from the consortium based in Florida, together with one member from the UK, was declined.
“A second offer was made, which was also declined; however, I was willing to negotiate to accelerate the process, despite my best intentions to conclude a deal.
“To avoid any misunderstanding, the first offer was submitted in US dollars and the second in UK pounds. The first offer was $40m plus limited future payments based upon promotion to the Premier League – not $65m as was said at the forum.

“The second offer was £40m plus limited future Premier League promotion payments – far from a guaranteed $75m which was reported in the second media interview.”
Dejphon Chansiri addressed the fans about his decision to reject the bids, believing he had done everything possible to make the deal work, but he did not believe this was for the best for the club.
He wished that fans understood his decision and urged them not to believe everything they read on social media.
Chansiri knows fans are not happy with him and want him to sell the club, and he promised that he will continue to search for someone to purchase Sheffield Wednesday.
Where does this leave Sheffield Wednesday now?
Owls fans will still be dreaming of Chansiri stepping aside while also being hopeful of convincing Rohl to stay under new ownership to rebuild the club.
Following the failure to agree to a sale of the club to Adam Shaw, with Chansiri seemingly disliking the approach of the businessman.
Meanwhile, the potential takeover of the club by John Textor may not be the best thing for the club following the relegation of Lyon to Ligue 2 due to financial issues.

This relegation should be seen as a potential foreshadowing for continued financial issues at Wednesday if the club were to be sold from Chansiri to Textor.
Fans will not be pleased to hear that it is likely that this issue at Hillsborough will not be resolved this summer and the Owls will enter the new season still facing huge uncertainty regarding the future of the club.
