Derby County have finally announced the signing of Patrick Agyemang.
The USA international has joined the Rams for an incredible £5.8m on Tuesday evening, becoming the East Midlands outfit’s fourth-most-expensive player of all time.
There will be fears over Agyemang’s fee, but the 24-year-old is well-liked by Tim Howard and he will be given time over the course of the next few weeks to integrate himself into the squad as the rest of the team get to work in Austria.
However, despite the excitement of the signing for Derby fans, there is an issue that John Eustace will have to work around.

Derby County supporters react as Patrick Agyemang is announced
The Rams have now made five signings this summer, but Agyemang is obviously the statement one from the club right now as they await investment.

It’s a move that fans have been anticipating for a number of weeks, and they have taken to social media to welcome the striker to Derby.
Another said: “Finally, let’s see what he can bring, hopefully some goals. Welcome to Derby, Patrick.”
While a third put: “Just looks so good.”
“Welcome to the Rams,” a fifth Derby fan wrote.
As one more said: “Patrick, welcome to Derby. Make it happen lad.”
Patrick Agyemang will miss the start of the season
Although there is plenty to be excited for, Agyemang is set to miss the first few games of the 2025/26 campaign due to injury.
The striker was playing through the start of the 2025 MLS season with a hernia problem, and while he was able to continue on the pitch, it was with discomfort.

He will undergo surgery to correct this issue as soon as possible, but this means that there will be a reliance on Carlton Morris during this time. Eustace must also not forget about Lars-Jorgen Salvesen, who is returning from injury, and the new campaign cannot come soon enough for the Rams.
