Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony has offered solidarity to Sheffield Wednesday as he details why they ‘will get sold’.
Sheffield Wednesday have suffered a horrendous summer under the stewardship of Dejphon Chansiri.
The Owls are less than a week away from kicking off their season, and Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen will have to steer the ship with a makeshift first-team squad.
Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan has signed a new contract at the club, but that is the only positive news received by fans in S6 this summer, as failed takeover bids and stripping of the first-team have left the club significantly underprepared for the season ahead.
Despite the accumulation of concerns at the club, they have been handed a sliver of optimism by Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony, who has confidently said that Sheffield Wednesday will get sold.

What Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony said about Sheffield Wednesday’s situation
Sheffield Wednesday’s current situation has gripped the national press due to the size and history of the club.
TalkSPORT in particular have covered Sheffield Wednesday’s situation, and they interviewed Peterborough United owner Darragh MacAnthony to get his thoughts on the current situation.
“Sheffield Wednesday will get sold eventually,” said MacAnthony. “Somebody will buy that giant of a club. They will come again.
“We’ve seen clubs over the years who drop down the leagues, have financial issues, and within a few years they’re suddenly back. Sheffield Wednesday will be one of those clubs.
“Josh Windass is a friend of mine, he was telling me a lot of the things that were going on during the off-season.
“It is a tremendous, historic club that will get sold.”
There have been several interested parties this summer who have been keen to acquire Sheffield Wednesday, but many have speculated that Dejphon Chansiri’s lofty price tag on the club has been a barrier to any talks advancing to later stages.

Increased press coverage should offer benefit to the Owls
Recent weeks have seen the pressure on Dejphon Chansiri significantly ramp up, with the Sheffield Wednesday owner being blamed for the negligence over the North Stand, which has since been closed, as well as the departure of many first-team players.
Sheffield Wednesday supporters are set to protest against Chansiri, and they will need as many eyes on them as possible to make it worthwhile. Their opening game away at Leicester City will be caught on the Sky Sports cameras, and hopefully, the national press can continue to pick up on the situation.
Pressure on Chansiri from many parties could prove to be a catalyst for the Thai owner’s tenure at Sheffield Wednesday coming to an eventual end – the fans have made their feelings known, and that is being highlighted across the country.
