Ahead of the opening Championship fixture, Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust have published details of their first protest, with Leicester City set to give them a helping hand in conducting it.
Sheffield Wednesday kick off their 2025/26 Championship campaign away at Leicester City, but the football on the pitch will not be the main talking point for the Owls.
The summer leading up to the upcoming season has been tumultuous – many first-team players have left the club, including Josh Windass and Michael Smith on free deals, whilst Djeidi Gassama and Anthony Musaba were also sold.
Danny Rohl has also left Sheffield Wednesday, with Henrik Pedersen filling the vacancy of what appears to be an incredibly difficult job this season.
Barry Bannan has signed a contract at Sheffield Wednesday, but that has been the only positive news as of recently. The supporters are set to direct their displeasure towards owner Dejphon Chansiri in their opening fixture against Leicester City, and such details about what to expect have been revealed.

Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust release protest details
An update from the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust has included details for their upcoming protest set to take place away at Leicester City in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
The main takeaways from the statement, titled ‘Stand Up Now For Your Club’, include a plea towards the fans to take part in a ‘late to your seat protest’ whilst a large banner is displayed in the away end. Supporters will then make their way to their seats after five minutes following kick-off, where fans have been asked to direct ‘vocal displeasure’ towards the ‘current ownership’.
The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust has also said that the protest ‘has been organised in discussion with LCFC’.

Owls fans should expect ramped-up protests for opening Hillsborough clash
As also written in the statement, the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust also alluded to further details being announced in due course for the first home game against Stoke City, where ‘stronger action’ will be taken in response to Dejphon Chansiri’s ownership.
The Sheffield Wednesday owner has presided over a shambolic summer at the football club, and that is set to manifest into an intense situation at Hillsborough Stadium. Many concerns face the club, which is summed up poetically by the North Stand embroidering “Chansiri” across the seats.
For the supporters who do show up at Hillsborough against Stoke City, a tense atmosphere can be expected as fans let out a cry that they have held in all summer whilst the club fell apart in front of their eyes.
