Sheffield Wednesday fans have been put through misery this summer, but finally, the supporters have something to be happy about.
The supporters have been put through complete chaos, witnessing unpaid player wages, Danny Rohl’s exit, players walking out of the club and no new signings despite the season starting next weekend.
Their woes looked set to continue when Sheffield Wednesday legend Barry Bannan was linked with a move to Middlesbrough and Millwall after seeing his contract expire on June 30.
Bannan has continued to train with the Owls when some of his teammates jumped ship, and the 35-year-old has shown loyalty and devotion to the football club that is lost in the modern game.
On Friday evening, Bannan broke the silence on his Sheffield Wednesday future with a post on Instagram, and now he’s done the unthinkable.

“NAME A STAND! BUILD THE STATUE! AND GIVE HIM THE KEYS TO THE CLUB,” someone else wrote.
“I would jump in front of a train for Barry Bannan,” another posted.
“Barry Bannan. That’s it, that’s the tweet,” a fifth commented while a sixth said: “The term legend is given to easy these days, but in Bannan’s case without a doubt confirmed.”
“While ever we have Barry Bannan, we have hope. What a man,” one fan wrote.
During a time when Wednesday are going through their lowest period in recent times, Bannan has continued to show why he’s a Sheffield Wednesday legend, with the veteran cementing his place as one of the greatest to don the blue and white shirt.
