Sheffield Wednesday have a new manager ahead of the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
Danny Rohl left the Owls on Tuesday, bringing to an end a promising tenure that was overshadowed by off-field problems.
Player wages are expected to be late once again in July, and players could refuse to play with a friendly against a Burnley XI scheduled for Saturday.
Barry Bannan is liked by Millwall and Middlesbrough, adding further complications to the club’s preparations for the season, and supporters have taken to social media as Sheffield Wednesday announce their new head coach.

Sheffield Wednesday fans react to Henrik Pedersen announcement
This summer has been a nightmare for the Owls, and with a three-window transfer fee ban, it’s been near-impossible to sign new players.

There is just over a week to go until the first Championship fixtures of the season, and with Henrik Pedersen officially announced as the new manager of Sheffield Wednesday, there is one question on the minds of supporters.
As another wrote: “Will he get paid? Will the staff get paid? Will the players get paid?”
A third Owls fan said: “That’s great, now will he have any players to manage?”
While a fifth put: “Good luck Henrik, you’re going to need it.”
And another Sheffield Wednesday supporter explained how worried they are for the future: “Has anyone been paid? That and the club sold is the only information we need. Good luck to the manager if he lasts a year I’d be amazed. Club is rotten.”
Henrik Pedersen has a monumental challenge on his hands
The vacancy at the Owls looked as though it was always going to be taken by Pedersen, and having someone who knows the club leading them is useful.
Derby County showed in the 2021/22 campaign how important togetherness is throughout a difficult period, with Wayne Rooney and Liam Rosenior forming a fantastic rapport with supporters during their administration season.

Pedersen has plenty of managerial experience, although this will be very different to anything that he has done in the past.
Nevertheless, Sheffield Wednesday fans must unite behind their new head coach as the days tick down to kick-off in the Championship.
