Dejphon Chansiri continues to face a battle with the fanbase, and the latest decision from one supporters group shows the true feelings towards the Sheffield Wednesday owner.
Sheffield Wednesday kick off their 2025/26 Championship season in just over a week as they travel to face Leicester City; however, the spotlight in S6 is on anything but the football.
This summer has been catastrophic on all levels for Sheffield Wednesday, as current players are set to receive delayed wages for the third successive month. At the same time, first-team members are being sold for far below their market value.
Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri is unwilling to confront his mistakes this summer, having responded to concerns from Sheffield City Council with ‘what has it got to do with you?’
It is clear that fans have had enough at this point, which has led to the popular decision taken by one supporters group.

The action that Armed Forces Owls’ have taken on Dejphon Chansiri
In a statement released by Armed Forces Owls on X, they have announced that they have withdrawn from the Fan Engagement Panel at Sheffield Wednesday Football Club.
This has been put down to ‘the Chairman’s continued refusal to engage with fan groups’ and the suggestion that any concern from supporters’ groups is ‘met with refusal or ignorance’ by Chansiri.
In their statement, they said: “We urge other Engagement Panel members to join us in walking away.”

Sheffield Wednesday fans applaud Armed Forces Owls’ withdrawal as pressure on Chansiri mounts
Unsurprisingly, the decision made by the Armed Forces Owls was met with an overwhelmingly positive response.
On social media, one Sheffield Wednesday supporter said that they had ‘full respect’ for the decision and that ‘hopefully the rest will follow’.
Fans continued, saying that they ‘fully back’ the decision and that the supporters are ‘behind’ the decision, which puts extra emphasis on the groups being ‘unified’, which puts further pressure on Dejphon Chansiri.
Chansiri has often evaded real criticism during his tenure at Sheffield Wednesday, with the silent majority not turning on him…until now.
There is no way back for Chansiri at this point, and whilst protests in the past have sparked division, the fanbase has never been so unified as it is now.
