The 2025/26 fixtures are out for the season and excitement is building for that second weekend in August.

It’s going to be an incredibly difficult Championship season to predict with the relegated trio of Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton all likely to be up there while promoted duo Birmingham City and Wrexham have money to spend and will fancy their chances.

Fans are keen to see who their own teams will face first but more so, want to know when they will face their biggest rivals.

So, without further ado, here is when all of the biggest rival and derby matches will take place.

*All kick off times will be subject to change throughout the season.

When is Sheffield United vs Sheffield Wednesday?

Starting off with one of the biggest derbies, the two clubs from Sheffield will be well up for claiming bragging rights in the Steel City derby.

Sheffield United have Ruben Selles at the helm after sacking Chris Wilder following their play-off final defeat whereas Sheffield Wednesday can only sign free transfers due to an embargo.

The atmosphere is always electric at both stadiums and it’s bound to be another cracker.

When is Southampton vs Portsmouth?

Perhaps one of the most underrated derbies out there, the South Coast derby between Southampton and Portsmouth is about as fiery as it can get.

This will be the first time since 2019 that the two sides have faced each other and the first in a league fixture since April 2012 where they drew 2-2.

When is Norwich City vs Ipswich Town?

The East Anglian derby might get a bit of stick from fans not affiliated to the clubs but make no mistake, these two do not like each other.

This game has been torture for Ipswich for well over a decade, with their last win against Norwich City coming all the way back in 2009. To make matters worse, they haven’t won at Carrow Road since 2006.

Could this be the year the Tractor Boys finally end their hoodoo?

When is Birmingham City vs Wrexham?

Dubbed the ‘Hollywood derby’ these two promoted clubs have lofty ambitions.

Birmingham want to get promoted this season and Wrexham could make it a fourth consecutive promotion if they reach the promised land.

Both of them will spend big to get there and these games could have a huge say at the top of the table.

When is Leicester City vs Coventry City?

The M69 derby returns once again after a year-long hiatus as Leicester immediately returned to the second tier.

Frank Lampard’s side impressed last season and will be a favourite to finish inside the top six once again.

When is Millwall vs Charlton Athletic?

The battle for south London returns at long last as Millwall and Charlton Athletic will reunite in a league fixture.

Expect tension, drama and a cagey atmosphere.

When is Leicester City vs Derby County?

Leicester and Derby County haven’t met in some time but the East Midlands rivals will play it out to see who can take bragging rights.

Derby haven’t beaten Leicester since 2013 and endured a miserable record since then so will finally hope to get one over the Foxes.

When is Birmingham vs West Brom?

Another Midlands rivalry but this time focusing on the West Midlands. In terms of the other three clubs in the area, Birmingham and West Brom isn’t as heated as the Second City derby but there will be some needle.

Now that Birmingham have financial backing behind them, Ryan Mason and co will hope to rain on their parade.

When is Wrexham vs Swansea City?

Despite Cardiff City’s relegation to League One, we’ll still be treated to an all-Wales encounter thanks to Wrexham vs Swansea City.

They haven’t met since 2003 and although it may not have the same intensity as Cardiff vs Swansea, a north-south Wales rivalry could still be very tasty.
