Henry Winter gave a clear view of Sheffield Wednesday’s situation under Dejphon Chansiri and what could await the ‘famous old club’.
Sheffield Wednesday now face three embargos by the EFL, with the latter being placed upon the club after Dejphon Chansiri was unable to pay the amounts owed to fellow Championship clubs Southampton and Norwich City for Shea Charles and Akin Famewo, respectively.
The situation seems to get worse for Sheffield Wednesday, who are without a recognised manager due to Danny Rohl orchestrating a likely exit from Hillsborough, also appear to have no pre-season plans for the players who remain at the club.
Players have gone unpaid, which has notably left Sheffield Wednesday legends Barry Bannan and Liam Palmer as free agents. In what has been a disastrous off-season for the S6-based club, journalist Henry Winter has had his say on the situation.

Henry Winter criticises Dejphon Chansiri for the ‘shambles’ at Sheffield Wednesday
Sheffield Wednesday have endured many struggles this summer, and that has been recognised by the national media, who have honed in on Dejphon Chansiri for the issues.
After it was revealed that Sheffield Wednesday owed payments to other clubs, on top of the fact that players and staff continue to go without pay, Henry Winter reacted to the events that have turned into a ‘scandal’.
On X, Winter wrote: “Every day Dejphon Chansiri remains at Sheffield Wednesday, a famous old club gets dragged further and further down. The shambles has become a scandal.”
As Winter suggests, the issues continue to mount at Sheffield Wednesday, with the training ground not being fit for purpose as well, with the players training at the Jubilee Sports Club instead – the facility that belongs to the club’s community foundation.

There is no way back for Dejphon Chansiri in S6
Sheffield Wednesday’s issues at this point seem to be insurmountable; some fans have already written off the upcoming campaign due to the issues plaguing the club, most notably the uncertainties regarding players and staff.
It has got to the point where Dejphon Chansiri can almost certainly not fight his way back into any form of support from the fans – even the silent majority have now turned their backs.
Sheffield Wednesday are going to be in for a tough ride this season, with or without Chansiri. The only ounce of hope that Owls fans can cling to at this point is that maybe Chansiri will not be around the club much longer to wreak more havoc that is being further placed on the club.
