Millwall have had an inconsistent season so far, having seen Neil Harris depart and since replaced the club legend with Alex Neil in the dugout.
Millwall have been just outside the play-offs for much of the season so far but a damaging defeat to Bristol City, the dark horses of the Championship, saw them lose 2-0 at The Den recently, which was soon followed up by a defeat to the ‘best’ team in the league in Leeds United.

However, Millwall had already beaten the Whites twice this season, and Daniel Farke feared Leeds were at a disadvantage going into the game. That should provide some comfort and hope hope in the Championship play-off race, but there are plenty of teams in the mix for the top six run-in.
They acquired no fewer than eight players in January after selling Romain Esse in a big-money move to Crystal Palace, meaning that the club could be well-placed to compete again next season once they have been bedded in properly between now and May.

Millwall’s phone deal reveal leaves fans bewildered
Millwall are never too far from drama or an intriguing story point in their season, including Liam Roberts’ FA Cup drama against Crystal Palace earlier this year. However, that is no longer the most interesting aspect of their campaign to date.
That’s because they have announced that they have become the first British club to launch its own mobile network. They state that it is powered by the UK’s fastest 5G, and that it will include exclusive club perks, as well as multiple plans to choose from.
Naturally, social media has had some fun regarding the latest reveal, which we have taken a look at now.
Another fan responded: “That Esse money really got us buying ****.”
A further response said: “imagine calling someone, it going to voicemail and you just hear on the other end ‘No one calls us, no one calls us, and we’re not here’.”
A Middlesbrough fan joked: “You won’t need the European roaming lads.”

Millwall’s play-off chances revealed
Opta are giving Millwall a 1.16% chance of mounting a late play-off push in the final eight games of the season, with their most common finishing position averaging at 12th.
That represents another solid season for the Lions, who are among the smaller budget teams in the division. It would also mark eight seasons in a row of Championship football.

The issue for Millwall is that they are one of the longest-serving sides in the division, with the likes of Preston North End, Bristol City, and QPR the only teams ahead of them in that respect.
Three eighth-placed finishes in that time is not to be sniffed at for a team who continue to punch above their weight, but the challenge for Alex Neil next season is to break into the top six by putting more of the Esse money to good use in the market.
