Huddersfield Town have continued their impressive summer transfer business after signing defender Joe Low and Sean Roughan from League One rivals.

Before the summer transfer window shut for the Club World Cup break, Huddersfield Town continued their impressive business with the impressive capture of two League One talents.

Huddersfield have been tipped as potential League One winners, and are continuing to cement themselves as early third tier title contenders, after securing the signatures of free agents Joe Low and Sean Roughan.

Defender Low completed the switch from league rivals Wycombe Wanderers, after rejecting an offer to extend his contract at Adams Park, and called time on his two-year stint.

Fellow defender Roughan also joins the Terriers upon the conclusion of his contract, departing Lincoln City after making 136 appearances.

Terriers fans took to social media after the announcement to voice their delight at the double swoop.

Huddersfield Town fans are delighted with double signing

The Terriers made midfielder Ryan Ledson the first signing of Lee Grant’s tenure after he parted ways with Preston North End upon the expiry of his contract after seven years at Deepdale.

As well as Marcus Harness from Ipswich Town, Low and Roughan join on free transfers as Huddersfield build their title-challenging squad ahead of next season.

Following the announcement of the double transfer swoop, the Huddersfield faithful took to social media to share their delight at the Terriers’ latest business.

One fan said: “Incredible signings genuinely excited for next season”, as another posted: “Next season looks promising”.

Another Huddersfield fan added: “4 solid signings so far. Obviously more needed but please maintain the quality.”

A fourth fan joked: “Champions by Christmas”, as another added: “Top pedigree but keep it up. We are thin everywhere”.

Another Terries fan posted: “Class from town well played Kev and co.”

Terriers boss Lee Grant made a telling admission after Low’s signing was announced, which highlights even further that Huddersfield mean serious business in their League One title charge for next season.

Huddersfield Town boss Lee Grant reveals Joe Low had offers from other clubs

Huddersfield are building an impressive squad ahead of the 2025/26 League One campaign, as Grant’s side look to better the Terriers’ 10th-place finish this term.

Following the announcement of Low’s move from Wycombe to Huddersfield, head coach Grant revealed the Welsh international had offers from clubs “higher” in the divisions, but rebuffed them in favour of a move to the Terriers.

Grant told Huddersfield Town’s media: “I am really pleased to welcome Joe to the club.

“Joe is a tall, strong, and commanding central defender who has experience of playing in a successful side in League One. He has shown high-level ability, great maturity, and leadership for his age,

“He has expressed his hunger and intent, and we’re glad he has invested into the project we have here at Huddersfield Town.

“There was strong interest in his services at this level and higher, so it is great for us to have Joe commit his future to the club, as we continue to get our business done before the start of pre-season.”

The double signing coup of Low and Roughan sends a serious statement of intent from the Huddersfield hierarchy to the rest of their third tier rivals ahead of next season, with more signings expected to arrive when the window resumes.
