The first half saw one incredible moment for Hull City, which one Tigers man will want to forget quickly.
Hull City and Coventry City drew 1-1 at the MKM Stadium as Frank Lampard’s side helped to cement their play-off position, whilst the Tigers gave themselves a helping hand towards Championship survival.
The clash saw Coventry City go ahead courtesy of Matt Grimes, but Abu Kamara’s inspired substitute appearance brought Ruben Selles’ side a point after he notched a goal in the latter stages of the tie.
Whilst Hull will be more than happy with a point against the Sky Blues, they will certainly be rueing their missed opportunity in the first half, one that left Tigers fans absolutely speechless.

Hull City fans react to stunning Kasey Palmer miss vs Coventry City
The game was 0-0 as it entered the interval, with Coventry City certainly on top of the game in terms of the quantity of chances, but Hull City had the golden opportunity to take the lead, courtesy of Kasey Palmer.
Hull City’s midfielder found the ball bounce to him on two separate occasions inside the Coventry City box, and he was unable to notch a goal, despite the opportunities having a 0.39 and 0.33 xG respectively, per SofaScore.
On X, Hull fans were quick to take to socials to vent their frustration at the two missed chances to get the Tigers in front, in which one supporter suggested was ‘embarrassing’.
Another fan suggested that it was ‘horrendous to not score there’, and ‘that’s why we are where we are in the league’. This was backed up by another who suggested that the missed opportunity ‘summed up’ the season.
‘He has to score that. What was he doing?!?’ questioned another supporter who was in awe of the chance that was missed.

Kasey Palmer miss sums up Hull City’s season
It is safe to say that Palmer’s horrendous miss summed up the Tigers’ season, one which has been littered with missed opportunities left, right, and centre. Hull City, especially recently, haven’t found too many difficulties in regards to defending, since Selles’ appointment, that is, but it is another story when it comes to the final third.
Out of the 24 sides in the Championship, Hull City have the 2nd worst (before the Coventry City game) xG vs actual goals scored, meaning that the Tigers have been expected to score more than they have notched.
In hindsight, Hull City were left to rue that missed opportunity following the wicked deflection that helped the Sky Blues to their first goal, again, not an unfamiliar sight for Selles’ side, who, in hindsight, could have claimed all three points.
