Ipswich Town have finally announced their retained list following their relegation back to the Championship, with two players set to depart the club this summer.
With Liam Delap set to depart to Chelsea for £30m, the transfer window is going to be a busy one for the Tractor Boys, and Kieran McKenna has now taken the decision to let go of two of his back-to-back promotion heroes.
Marcus Harness and Massimo Luongo will say goodbye to Portman Road at the end of their contracts, and there will be plenty of suitors for both players, as supporters ready themselves for the EFL once again.
However, the former may just have his eyes set on one club already after a season-long loan in 2024/25. Nevertheless, Ipswich fans are all in agreement about just how important he has been in the club’s journey from League One.
Ipswich Town fans bid an emotional farewell to Marcus Harness
Harness spent three years with the Tractor Boys after joining from Portsmouth in the summer of 2022 – winning promotion in each of his first two seasons at the club as they rose to the Premier League.

However, he was deemed surplus to requirements in August and he was sent out on loan to Derby County, who survived in the Championship on the final day of the season. But he is now looking for a new club, and Tractor Boys supporters have wished him well as he leaves.
One fan wrote: “All the best for the future, Marcus.”
While another put: “Thank you for everything, Marcus Harness.”
A fifth Ipswich supporter replied: “Won’t forget that Birmingham away game, thank you Marcus Harness.”
Meanwhile another Tractor Boys fan said: “Go well Harness you blue eyed beauty. Birmingham away will live long in the memory.”

Derby County must now capitalise and sign Marcus Harness
While Harness did not get off to the best of starts at Derby, an incredible run of form in March saw him become a crucial player for John Eustace and he was a regular in the team.
Playing alongside Jerry Yates, a loanee who the Rams are not expected to re-sign, the departing Ipswich man helped to ensure the East Midlands outfit’s safety in a second striker role that he clearly enjoyed playing in.
With so many free agents in the Championship available, there will be plenty of players looking for new homes this summer, but Derby already know what Harness can offer them and he would be an excellent option off the bench. Although he may be a little bit too similar to another target in Andreas Weimann.
