Ipswich Town were busy on the final day of the summer transfer window, as they looked to shape their squad for a promotion push with the incoming of several faces but also the departure of fan favourites.
It is never easy to let those players leave that have become beloved by the fans of the club; however, Ipswich have decided to say farewell to several loyal servants that had found a place in the hearts of fans.
Chiedozie Ogbene threw himself into the Ipswich community after his season-ending injury last season, while Conor Chaplin had been key in their rise to the Premier League.

While you may be able to replace these players with those of equal or better ability, it is tough to emulate the love fans have for them.
Now one of the departing players has delivered a heartfelt message to fans as he says goodbye to Ipswich Town.
Luke Woolfenden shares an emotional goodbye with Ipswich Town
The decision to sell Luke Woolfenden to Coventry City will not have been an easy one for the club or Kieran McKenna, as the defender was local to the area.
Woolfenden will hope the move can revitalise his career after he had become a rotational option at the back for Ipswich from the time the club was in the Premier League until now, on its return to the Championship.
Speaking to club media, he said: “It has been an absolute honour to represent my hometown club for so long.
“When I joined the Academy as such a young boy, I would never have believed I would go on to make so many appearances for the first team, let alone achieve everything we have in recent years.
“I have seen a lot during my time at the club, and there have been some difficult periods as well, but to be a part of such a special time for the club and win back-to-back promotions to the Premier League will live with me forever.
“So many people have helped me along the way, and I’ve played with so many special teammates who will be friends for life. I’ll always be grateful.
“It will be strange to not be an Ipswich Town player, but the club will always have a special place in my heart.”

Luke Woolfenden’s career at Ipswich Town
The central defender came through the Ipswich Town academy, having joined the club at 12 years old.
He would go on to make a total of 215 appearances for Town, scoring five goals, after he made his debut in the EFL Cup in August 2017 against Luton Town.

Upon the arrival of Kieran McKenna, he would become a central figure of the team as he helped them achieve back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League.
However, now he brings his time at the club to an end, as he has left for Coventry City for a reported fee worth around £4 million.
