Jobe Bellingham came out on top in his last meeting against Sheffield United, but he was shown a thing or two during that game.
Sunderland beat Sheffield United in the Championship play-off final back in May, which proved to be Jobe Bellingham’s final outing for the Black Cats.
After weeks of speculation, Bellingham left Sunderland for Borussia Dortmund for a £27.8m fee, which could break Sunderland’s most expensive sales record with future add-ons.
Birmingham City banked a seven-figure windfall via Bellingham after the Blues academy graduate’s move, and the England youth international has enjoyed a positive start at the Signal Iduna Park.
Amid the international break, the Bundesliga’s social media team questioned Bellingham on his ultimate 5-a-side team of former opponents, in which he included three familiar faces to Championship fans.

Jobe Bellingham picks Gus Hamer in ultimate five-a-side team
Borussia Dortmund beat Premier League sides to Bellingham this summer after the dynamic midfielder’s outstanding season in the Black Cats’ engine room under Regis Le Bris.
Championship Young Player of the Season Bellingham notched four goals and registered three assists in 43 outings for Sunderland, with his final game coming in the 2-1 play-off final comeback win over Sheffield United.
In the Wembley showpiece, Gustavo Hamer created Sheffield United’s opening goal which was dispatched by Tyrese Campbell, before an Eliezer Mayenda equaliser and a 95th-minute Tommy Watson goal turned the tide for Sunderland.
Ironically, Blades superstar Hamer features in Bellingham’s ultimate five-a-side team of former opponents, alongside ex-Coventry City star Viktor Gyokeres and Black Cats shot-stopper Anthony Patterson.
Bellingham told the Bundesliga’s social media: “Striker, Gyokeres, played against him in the Championship and he was really good.
“I played against Sergio Ramos the other day, I’ll put Thiago Silva in as well.
“Gus Hamer, and then goalkeeper I’ll pick Anthony Patterson. I played against him and with him and he’s my boy.”
After his magical performances for Sheffield United in an otherwise turgid start to the season for the Blades, it is no surprise that Bellingham includes the Dutchman in his dream five-a-side team.

Gus Hamer is biggest hope for Sheffield United after winless start
Sheffield United have lost their four opening games of the 2025/26 Championship campaign in a shocking start for summer appointment Ruben Selles.
EFL Analysis exclusively revealed recently that Sheffield United chiefs will give Selles time to turn it around, and Hamer will be imperative to turning it around at Bramall Lane.
PSV pushed to sign Hamer before deadline day after Leeds United’s interest in the Dutchman, who scored a stunning long-range strike in a Carabao Cup defeat to Birmingham City last month.
Unsurprisingly, Bellingham included Hamer after he created the most chances (3) of any player in the Championship play-off final, in which the Black Cats came out on top.
The Dutchman’s efforts came to no avail under the Wembley arch, and Hamer will have to work his magic again for the Blades after the international break if they want any hope of promotion contention again this season.
