John Eustace has spoken to Derby County supporters for the first time since the final day of the 2024/25 Championship season.
Ebou Adams praised the Rams’ head coach that day, as a 0-0 draw at home to Stoke City secured their second tier status for another season, despite being seven points from safety in March.
Derby are keen on Patrick Agyemang, as Carlton Morris prepares for a medical in the East Midlands with it being clear that Eustace wants to bring in high-quality strikers following a difficult year in front of goal from open play.
In a fans’ forum on Tuesday evening, the 45-year-old sent a strong message to supporters ahead of pre-season.

John Eustace sends rallying cry to Derby County supporters
It’s been just over four months since Eustace switched Blackburn Rovers for Derby, and there has been plenty of success in that time as the club recovered from a difficult winter.

Speaking to supporters, the Rams’ head coach had pleaded with them to stick by the club in the coming months and years. He said: “Be right behind us, which we know you will be. We’re right behind you and we’re trying to create that family environment, that Derby County family as I said before.
“Home and away, throughout the tough times, which there are going to be difficult moments next season – that’s for sure, that’s the Championship. But that doesn’t affect us.
“The one vision for this football club is to be back in the Premier League one day. The way we do that is by being together and sticking through the good times and the bad times. I can’t wait for the journey. The journey started six months ago now and let’s go on special journey together.”
Bringing stability back to Pride Park is vital for John Eustace
Throughout the forum, Eustace was keen to maintain this ‘journey’ model and a quick fix is not exactly what he is after.
Bit-by-bit improvement is much more valuable to the club as they look to move up the Championship table and there is a clear plan to do this over the next few years.
Stability is vital for the Rams, and after only just avoiding relegation, the next target is a mid-table finish. However, this is an exciting time to be a Derby fan and the coming seasons have all the makings of being good ones for the East Midlands outfit.
