Leicester City fans cannot fathom what has just happened in pre-season, it is a ‘complete mess’

Leicester City fans are far from happy after one update from pre-season that has been regarded as very amateurish.

Following relegation from the Premier League, Leicester City have had a difficult summer, with very little preparation made ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy was sacked by Leicester City, but Jon Rudkin has yet to bring in his successor to lead the squad this season. Danny Rohl has been linked to the Leicester job, but at this moment, no progress has been made by the Foxes to find their man.

With pre-season now underway, Leicester City fans have hit out at the club over one thing they have noticed about the club’s kit, something that has led to supporters branding the ownership as unsatisfactory, and not for the first time.

Leicester City fans hit out as the club wears training gear for pre-season opener

On Saturday 5 July, Leicester were gearing up for their opening play-off clash, where they faced off against Peterborough United at their training ground.

In what is just the first of three confirmed friendlies so far, it didn’t get off to a great start from the supporters’ perspective after it became clear that the 2025/26 kits wouldn’t be available and ready to wear for the opener.

As reported by Josh Holland, ‘The team will be in the latest training wear for the fixture ahead of the official reveal of the 2025/26 adidas home kit later this month’.

This led to fans being far from happy with the club, with one suggesting that it ‘sums up our club’ and that it is ‘embarrassing’. Another fan believed that it was ‘proper non-league behaviour that’, and then went on to state that ‘what’s going on seems like a complete mess’.

Reacting to the news, another supporter said: “No manager. No kit. I mean it’s not ideal is it.

“This is when you release the kit so fans buy it over the summer. Do we really not need the money?”

Leicester kit delay doesn’t bode well for the pre-season plans

Whilst on the surface, some might believe that the kit not being ready for the first pre-season game has sparked somewhat of an overreaction from a set of the supporters, what it does is reflect on the current state of the club.

Many fans won’t be concerned about the kit being released as soon as possible, but they will be unhappy about why that, on top of a myriad of other problems, continues to not be resolved at the club.

First and foremost, they need to hurry along with an appointment; otherwise, the current friendlies will be fairly pointless beyond getting game time into the legs of the players.

The fan unrest at Leicester City is tangible right now, and hopefully, such a stir will give the board the kick it needs to crack on with several key decisions before pre-season progresses much further.
