Luton Town will be able to count on one of their key stars after a decision was made to overturn his ban following a red card at the weekend.
Liam Walsh was shown a straight red card in Luton’s win against Coventry City after being dismissed for violent conduct at Kenilworth Road.
Walsh was expected to be handed a five-game suspension, ruling him out of the must-win clash against West Bromwich Albion on the final day of the season, but will now be available for selection.
Three points will guarantee Matt Bloomfield’s side’s place in the Championship next season and news of one of their in-form players now back in contention once again, Hatters fans are very happy.

Luton Town fans and react to Liam Walsh red card U-turn
Fans of other clubs may consider the decision to overturn Walsh’s red card for the foul on Luis Binks as controversial, but Luton fans believe that the right decision has been made.
@LutonEye also believes that Binks should be punished, saying on X: “Justice. I would say they should be able to retrospectively punish the cheat who dived on the floor too, but Karma has already delivered in that respect.”
@AndyWatts76 added: “Yes! That is great news, common sense has prevailed!!! Liam Walsh to score on Saturday.”
@callumLtfc commented: “Hopefully the referee will be red carded instead awful performance. Glad common sense prevailed in the end.”
Walsh himself also reacted with two hands raised emoji and then two cool-looking emojis.
@LTFC_Dave stated: 100% the right decision Impressive effort from Langford to get so much wrong in one game
@Andy_Peacock commented: “Brilliant news.”
Liam Walsh has become a crucial part of Luton’s turnaround
If you’d asked Luton fans 10 weeks ago if they’d have their destiny in their own hands, they would’ve laughed.
Some corners of the fanbase were already resigned to back-to-back relegations but two losses in their last 10 games has been some turnaround, and Walsh has been a huge part of it.
The former Everton midfielder has started eight of the last nine games and is likely to be one of the first names on the team sheet at The Hawthorns again.
