Stoke City suffered their second Championship loss of the campaign as QPR emerged 1-0 winners in their sixth game of the season.
Mark Robins was not pleased with their performance as QPR secured all three points at Loftus Road against his Stoke City side.
Harvey Vale scored the winner in the 75th minute for QPR as they were dominant in their victory over Stoke City, having twice as many attempts as the visitors in the fixture.
Following the match, Mark Robins gave a very open and honest assessment of the match in which his Stoke City side had just lost.#

Mark Robins believed Stoke City deserved nothing from the match with QPR
Speaking immediately after the match, Mark Robins did not mince his words regarding the Stoke City performance, as reported by Stoke On Trent Live.
He said: “We didn’t deserve anything from the game because we stopped doing the non-negotiables that we’ve been doing so well in the previous games.
“We didn’t do enough; we just haven’t done enough in or out of possession, and when you come up against a team that set their stall out to disrupt, playing a different way than maybe we’ve been used to playing against – we’ll have to get used to that – you have to be better on the ball. You have to move it quicker but then not be disjointed with your movement or your passing.
“There was a lot not to like in the game, and it was frustrating because if you start to believe your hype or press, you’re in trouble. You have to keep doing the fundamentals. If you are not doing what we’re asking you to do properly, then the chances are you are not going to win the game; you’re not going to get anything from the game.
“We didn’t deserve anything from it.
“We could have got back into it, having said all that. Cressy has had one cleared off the line, and we’ve had a couple of opportunities when it looked like something might happen, but they were putting bodies on the line and stopping it. It’s what you expect from them.
“We’ve got to be better. It was almost like we were playing a game without thinking through it; we were just taking part in the game.
“That’s my take on it. Unless we do the fundamentals, unless we do the things that are non-negotiable properly, you’re not going to get anything in the Championship.”
Mark Robins wants Stoke City to be able to win when they aren’t on form
Stoke City have now lost twice in the Championship, with both defeats being 1-0, first to West Brom and now to QPR.
Mark Robins believes Stoke City need to be able to find a way to win even when they are not playing at their best.
He said: “Yes. I’ve been waxing lyrical about what I’ve seen, but then perhaps it’s after the Lord Mayor’s Show almost. You say this is really good, and I’m pleased with it, but then you get a performance which is below par. You’ve got to take into consideration the opponent, and they’ve been on a decent run. That’s three in a row they’ve won now.

“It’s a blow to us. We haven’t done the job as well as we have done in previous games, but if you don’t do things right, you’re going to come unstuck. That’s two 1-0 defeats, and if they’re perceived as narrow but I didn’t think we were anywhere near our best. I want to be at our best more often. We’ll see if that’s realistic or not come the end of the season.
“I’ve got to make demands of people, and I’ve got to see reactions and responses from individuals because that wasn’t reflective of anything we’ve done and been doing.”
