Middlesbrough fans ‘love’ club’s latest announcement, but they have one ‘outrageous’ issue

Middlesbrough fans have been reacting to the club’s latest announcement, and their opinions are, for the most part, positive.

Boro have had a busy couple of weeks, which has included appointing Rob Edwards as their new manager.

Josh Coburn opened up on his transfer to Millwall recently, with the striker now leaving Teesside permanently.

Elsewhere, Middlesbrough completed their first transfer of the summer this week, signing a U21 star to improve their goalkeeper ranks.

Away from potential transfers, the club did come under fire earlier in the week.

Middlesbrough fans were furious when the club shared their season ticket prices for 2025/26.

But the latest news coming out of the club has seen a much more positive reaction from the Boro faithful.

Middlesbrough 2025/26 home kit

On Wednesday evening, Boro revealed their new home kit for the 2025/26 season.

The kit, which is now made by Castore, features the gates to Ayresome Park across the shirt and has seen a largely positive reaction.

However, some Middlesbrough fans have taken issue with the sponsor taking up so much room.

One fan wrote: “A sponsor getting three lines of writing is quite outrageous, it’s a football shirt, not a Times Square billionaire.”

A second replied: “Smart that, best H shirt for a while. Love the gates on it.”

“I love it,” another fan simply wrote, with a fourth echoing, “Love the shirt.”

A fifth asked: “Can we buy it without the sponsor on the front, please?”

Another Middlesbrough fan stated: “All them shirt sponsors and we still get shafted £60.”

“Quality! Price is shocking, but really like the shirt,” a seventh wrote.

When is the Middlesbrough home shirt released

Prices for the new home shirt have been confirmed by the club.

• Women’s Fit Home Shirt – £60
• Junior Home Shirt – £48
• Baby Home Kit – £48
• Infant Home Kit – £48

The shirt is now available to pre-order until 4pm on Wednesday, July 9.

Middlesbrough will reopen the club shop on July 12, and pre-orders will be available for collection from then.

Deliveries will also be sent out by Boro on that date.
