Middlesbrough star leads entire Championship in two key areas amid remarkable Norwich City record

One Middlesbrough man has dominated the Championship this season and will be looking to shine once more against Norwich City.

After losing to Sheffield Wednesday on Monday, Middlesbrough are predicted to beat Norwich City by one pundit this weekend.

A victory for Boro could be huge and potentially see them climb into the top six going into the final day.

The Teessiders are seventh right now but are only behind Coventry City by three points and have a much better goal difference.

However, Middlesbrough have been very inconsistent this season, and victory over the Canaries is by no means certain, even after Norwich sacked their manager this week and are yet to appoint a permanent replacement.

Middlesbrough star Finn Azaz dominating Championship

If Boro are to secure three points on April 26, it’s likely Finn Azaz will need to be in top form.

Crystal Palace have scouted Azaz in recent months as he continues to shine in the Championship.

The Irishman scored in the reverse fixture between these two sides earlier this season, which ended in a 3-3 stalemate.

The 24-year-old has netted 12 and assisted 11 in the league so far this term, and going into the Norwich tie, is outperforming every other player in the second tier in two areas.

As perhaps expected given his 23 goal contributions this season, Azaz has created the most chances (82) and had the most shots (115) out of every single player in the Championship prior to matchday 45.

Middlesbrough recent record vs Norwich City is impressive

As already mentioned, Boro did draw with Norwich earlier this season despite having a two-goal lead in that fixture.

But Middlesbrough’s recent record against the Canaries, even with that blip, has still been remarkable.

In fact, Middlesbrough are unbeaten in their past six league fixtures against Norwich, winning four and being held twice.

Boro’s last loss came on November 21st, 2020, when they were beaten 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium.
