Birmingham City are set for a big 2025 summer transfer window, and their latest target has caught the attention of fans.
We revealed on Friday that Birmingham City are favourites to land Tommy Doyle from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
But with Tom Wagner aiming for promotion in the upcoming 2025/26 season, more big names are expected to arrive in the coming months.
Links with former winger Demarai Gray have emerged in recent weeks as well, while another forward moving to the Midlands has now been mooted.
It’s been claimed that Chris Davies’ side are now interested in Rennes striker Kyogo Furuhashi.

Fans react to Birmingham City interest in Kyogo Furuhashi
The news has been shared on social media, and the possibility of Birmingham signing the attacker has seen some rival fans express their jealousy over a potential move.
One fan wrote: “Okay… Now I am actually jealous of Brum.”
Another rival fan suggested it would be a great signing for the Blues: “Would be a great signing for them. But what happens to his aspirations of moving to a “Big 5” league?”
A third said on the potential transfer: “Would be class for them.”
Meanwhile, Birmingham fans have been reacting to the news as well and seem very happy.
One fan wrote: “Would be a statement signing already.”
Another Birmingham supporter echoed: “Class signing this would be,” while a third stated: “Tommy Doyle and Kyogo Furuhashi. Yes, please.”
Kyogo Furuhashi stats
Furuhashi joined Rennes from Celtic in the 2025 winter transfer window for around £10m.
He’s only played six times for the French outfit since his move, not scoring or assisting in any of those matches.
The striker’s return for Celtic, however, is much more impressive. He’s scored 85 and assisted 19 in 165 games for the Hoops across all competitions.
And in 2024/25, he found the net 10 times in 22 league fixtures before completing his transfer.
