Hamza Choudhury has been a topic of conversation among Sheffield United fans following their latest outing.
Sheffield United beat Cardiff City on Good Friday – a much-needed win for the Blades following a patchy run of form.
Gustavo Hamer handed the home side the lead in the 33rd minute before Ben Brereton Diaz secured the victory with three minutes of normal time to play.
However, Leeds United and Burnley still won on Friday, leaving the Blades five points adrift of the top two.

It was still a positive afternoon for Sheffield United, however, with the display of Leicester City loanee Hamza Choudhury a particular bright spark.

Sheffield United fans praise Hamza Choudhury for Cardiff City display
Choundhury is a central midfielder by trade but started the clash out of position at right-back.
He’s done this on a few occasions previously, including for Leicester, and was excellent against Cardiff.

| Minutes | 90 |
| Clearances | 4 |
| Interceptions | 2 |
| Total tackles | 4 |

| Key passes | 1 |
During and after the tie, Sheffield United fans flocked to social media to praise their midfielder for how he performed in what is an unnatural role for him.
One fan wrote: “Been quietly impressed with Hamza Choudhury in the first half. Looking to get into good positions, often an attacking option on the right and good defending on a few occasions. Not his natural position so bound to get caught out a few times but overall, decent showing.”
A second stated: “Quality interception by Choudhury,” followed by three clapping emojis.
“Holding demonstrating his superiority over Robinson in just 45 minutes of football! Better positional understanding and passing on a completely different level! Hamer is in the mood today, love it when he plays like this! Choudhury sharp too, thwarting their counter attacks,” a third wrote.
A fourth Sheffield United fan added: “Impressed with Choudhury today, some great defending. If Peck could strike the ball properly when he shoots, he’d be unstoppable. Love watching him play. Holding solid enough, O’Hare’s running stood out once again when he came on. He brings so much energy. 3-6 more wins to go…”
Another stated: “Hamza Choudhury has had a brilliant half at right-back making some crucial tackles and has surprisingly been impressive going forward. At times, he’s been United’s one-man press.”

What Sheffield United think about permanent Hamza Choudhury transfer
Choudhury had fallen out of favour under Leicester manager Ruud van Nistelrooy during his first couple of months at the King Power Stadium.
As a result, he was allowed to join the Yorkshire outfit on loan, with the option of a permanent transfer.
We recently provided an exclusive update on Sheffield United signing Choudhury permanently in the summer, and it should excite fans.
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey told us: “Generally, United have been very happy with Choudhury since he came in, they like his versatility – they do have an option but have not yet made their decision.
“But there is a good chance it can happen, but they will wait to see the outcome of the season.”
