Sheffield Wednesday are planning to use a key detail inside Hillsborough to protest against owner Dejphon Chansiri.
The Owls face Bristol City this Saturday at home, and fan protest group The 1867 Group first called on supporters to gather below the South Stand and be vocal in their feelings towards the Thai businessman, with the Supporters’ Trust backing the move.
Some Wednesday fans want demonstrations to be ramped up in order to keep media coverage and pressure on Chansiri going.
Now, The 1867 Group have announced they are going to double up on their plans for the Bristol City match – and they want to ‘hide’ Chansiri in the ground.

Sheffield Wednesday fan group The 1867 Group announce ‘Bag a Seat’ protest
The protesting Sheffield Wednesday fans have been asked to bring a bag along to the game to use to cover seating in an aim to hide all that spell out ‘Chansiri’ in the ground.
Taking to X on Tuesday, the protest group said: “For the Bristol City game, we are calling on all Wednesdayites to take part in the Bag a Seat protest in the North Stand. The aim is simple: cover the Chansiri wording on the North Stand. This is our stadium, our club – and we will not allow the chairman’s name to dominate the heart of the iconic North Stand, which traditionally displayed the initials of our club.
“Fans should bring their own bags wherever possible – blue, black, black & yellow, it’s trivial if done on mass – it doesn’t matter. What matters is that every possible seat in the vicinity of that wording is covered so the name disappears from view.
“Bags will be available around the North Stand entrances, but it is vital that as many of you as possible bring your own, especially if you are sitting in a white seat, which needs covering most urgently. We will bag the top and the seat itself just before full time wherever sat in the North Stand to increase the chances of the name being blocked out. This is about participation, visibility, and making a statement. Cover the seats. Cover his name. Show Chansiri, his family name is not welcome at our club.”
Sheffield Wednesday’s Gui Siqueira suffers devastating long-term injury
Amid the off field chaos at Wednesday, Henrik Pedersen has been dealt a blow on it.
Gui Siqueira, who had played in both of Wednesday’s Carabao Cup wins, is now ruled out for the rest of the season.
“Owls youngster Gui Siqueira has been dealt a cruel blow and will be sidelined for the remainder of the season,” the club said. “Siqueira picked up an Achilles injury during our Under-21s’ 3-0 win over Colchester last Monday at Hillsborough. The 20-year-old has undergone surgery and will now begin his road to recovery.”

The youngster’s injury will not do Pedersen’s threadbare squad any favours as the Championship returns this weekend.
