Sheffield Wednesday fans are waiting to see if Dejphon Chansiri is going to sell the club.
EFL Analysis shared an update on the takeover of Sheffield Wednesday last week, with three parties thought to be keen.
A further update then emerged, with one name in particular thought to be closer than any other when it comes to a takeover.
It was reported that Francesco Guardascione was leading a consortium to buy Sheffield Wednesday.
This week, meanwhile, it’s been shared that amid the July 15 deadline, some Owls players have now been paid.
In terms of the takeover, however, there hasn’t been much, if any, fresh news since last week.

Sheffield Wednesday journalist shares verdict on club
Danny Rohl has returned to Sheffield Wednesday after an extended break, with some players thought to have been happy at the German’s actions over the summer.
Rohl’s return has done little to help the club’s financial problems, something fans will be hoping a takeover can fix.
Journalist Joe Crann has been discussing the takeover on social media this week, and was not overly confident about it definitely happening.
He also predicted that the club will ‘remain a shambles’ until a buyout is completed.
Crann wrote: “I wouldn’t take anything at this point as good or bad news to be honest. It’s all a shambles and until a takeover is 100% complete – if it even happens – I’m expecting it to remain a shambles.”
Will a Sheffield Wednesday takeover happen
Chansiri has never proven easy to negotiate with, and unfortunately for Sheffield Wednesday fans, the potential takeover will be down to him.
Asked if a sale is more or less likely, Crann responded to one fan on X: “I wouldn’t say anything is more or less likely. It’s all pointless conjecture until it’s done.”
The 2025/26 Championship season is now just over three weeks away and the Owls still have many problems to solve behind the scenes.
