The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust has received an invitation for an Owls Engagement Panel meeting, but is only willing to comply if Dejphon Chansiri meets five specific conditions.
Sheffield Wednesday are on the board for the 2025/26 Championship season after a respectable point on their travels against Wrexham.
The Racecourse Ground was a witness to a brilliant second-half display by the Owls, who responded magnificently to Kieffer Moore’s brace.
A goal from Sheffield Wednesday captain Barry Bannan, and one from Bailey Camadarteri, opening his account for the season, were enough to notch a point in North Wales.
The game also saw Sheffield Wednesday fans continue to voice their frustration to Dejphon Chansiri, with Wrexham supporters joining in unison.
The fight against Chansiri’s ownership has continued, and as the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust continues to attempt to receive more clarity about the club’s situation, they have ordered five conditions to be met if they are to be involved in the Engagement Panel meeting.

Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust issues five demands to Dejphon Chansiri
The Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust has issued a statement, via social media, after it was invited to the Engagement Panel meeting with the club.
Whilst this provides an opportunity to gain ‘openness and clarity’ on the current situation at the club, at a time where the ‘fanbase has been left in the dark’, the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust is keen for five demands to be met by Owls owner Dejphon Chansiri.
After asking for the opportunity to hear directly from the Chairman about the club’s future, the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust went on to demand:
- ‘The sole subject of discussion is the sales process’
- ‘The meeting is streamed live and recorded by the WTID podcast so that supporters, the English Football League, and the incoming football regulator can view proceedings in full’
- ‘Local journalists are invited and permitted to ask questions’
- ‘Sheffield’s Members of Parliament, including Lord Blunkett, are invited and permitted to ask questions, or may nominate a representative if they cannot attend’
- ‘The meeting is chaired by an independent figure agreed by Sheffield’s MPs, with responsibility for keeping discussion on topic’
These have been requested by the Supporters’ Trust after they stated that the ‘existing Terms of Reference for the engagement panel no longer reflect the seriousness of the situation’.
Owls fans deserve openness after a chaotic few months
The current situation at Sheffield Wednesday, as overseen by Thai owner Dejphon Chansiri, has reached levels where Owls fans are significantly concerned about the welfare and future of the club.
In such a situation, supporters deserve to receive clarity on how long Sheffield Wednesday will remain in such a situation, and if the owner has a plan to get out of it.
There are still many unknowns on the club’s current status, whether there are interested parties, or if Chansiri is even keen to sell the club.
Several questions remain unanswered, and Sheffield Wednesday fans will rightly be discontent until they receive any form of clarity from Chansiri himself.
