As the dust settles after Sunderland’s heroics versus Coventry City, one fan has shared a hilarious new chant ahead of the play-off final.

Just when penalties seemed inevitable, Sunderland’s Dan Ballard headed in a dramatic winner in the 122nd minute of extra time, sending Sunderland fans into ‘carnage.’

His goal secured a 1-1 draw on the night and a 3-2 aggregate victory for the Black Cats.

The late goal sent Sunderland to the play-off final at Wembley and triggered fan pandemonium.

The fans will be bringing the energy to Wembley alongside a new chant.

The song is to the tune of Tom Grennan’s famous Gillette advert tune.

“He’s looking good, he’s looking sharp, he’s come so far.

“And he knows how to head the ball in off the bar.

“Enzo to Dan won the game for Sunderland, Ballard.

“The best a man can get.”

Whether you’re a Black Cats fan or not, you can’t deny it’s a great tune, one that could echo around Wembley next week.

Sunderland’s chances vs Sheffield United in Championship play-off final

Entering the Championship play-off final, Sheffield United hold a slight edge based on their strong finish in the league, 14 points ahead of Sunderland.

Their dominant semi-final win against Bristol City emphasised their attacking threat, and a favourable head-to-head record, including a November away victory, further bolstered their status.

Premier League experience within their squad and the stability under Chris Wilder adds to their credentials.

However, Sunderland’s dramatic semi-final win against Coventry has injected some crucial momentum, although Kevin Phillips has warned Sunderland ahead of the final.

Their victory against Sheffield United earlier in the season demonstrated their capability, and their resilience showcased their fighting spirit.

Sheffield United’s poor play-off history offered Sunderland hope, despite both teams’ inconsistent late-season form. The final promises to be a tense and unpredictable battle.
