The latest vacancy at Blackburn Rovers tells us a lot about Valerien Ismael’s plans

Blackburn Rovers are busy working away in the transfer window and one job opening has suggested that they need some extra help.

Valerien Ismael is heading into his first full season in the dugout at Ewood Park and has brought two new faces to Blackburn already in Dion de Neve and Sidnei Tavares.

However, with money tight, Ismael already seems resigned to losing two key stars after Callum Brittain refused to play against Accrington Stanley and Tyrhys Dolan is now a free agent.

Rovers need to build for the future though and they now need someone to aid with the next generation.

Blackburn Rovers’ latest job advert shows they are prioritising the future

Jobs in football don’t come around very often and Blackburn seem to be offering a whole host of jobs, but the one that stands out is the role of loan manager.

The job is an exciting one that has appeared on the official EFL site which requires you to be based at the Blackburn Rovers academy on a permanent 40-hour-a-week contract.

In the job description, Rovers are looking for someone who can “oversee the development of our young professional players through strategic loan placements” both domestically and overseas.

Sadly there is no information to suggest what sort of pay packet the successful applicant would get but it clearly shows that Blackburn are looking to get some of their best young stars to gain valuable experience in a first team environment.

Notable Blackburn Rovers academy graduates

Loaning out young talent can work in the long run and Blackburn have had plenty of top players to come through the ranks.

Names such as Damien Duff and James Beattie all began their careers at the club, as well as several Football League icons like Jonathan Walters, Anthony Pilkington, and Neil Danns.
