West Brom have been busy immediately before the end of the summer transfer deadline, with several players moving to the Hawthorns while others are set to depart.

The Baggies have bid farewell to four players to Ipswich Town over the past two seasons, with the latest being Darnell Furlong, who joined the Tractor Boys just days before the deadline.

While West Brom are set to sign his replacement in the shape of Alfie Gilchrist from Chelsea for a reported £2 million, the rapid nature of the deals demonstrates the frantic final few days West Brom and several other Championship clubs are set to experience ahead of the closure of the summer transfer market on September 1.

Ryan Mason has now made his thoughts clear on the chaos and the business being done around his side, West Brom, in his press conference ahead of their Championship fixture with Stoke City.

Tom Fellows to Southampton latest

One of Ryan Mason’s key players, Tom Fellows, has been linked with a move to Southampton before the close of the summer transfer window, joining Finn Azaz after his move from Middlesbrough.

The West Brom manager addressed this concerning departure with an answer addressing where his focus is at despite all the rumours surrounding his squad.

He said: “We know the end of the transfer window is coming up, but my focus is on Stoke City on Saturday.

“I can’t look three or four days ahead to the end of the window when we have a really important game coming up this weekend. It would be wrong of me to do that. My focus and energy is on the game.”

What Ryan Mason is telling West Brom players ahead of Stoke City clash

The West Brom coach will have had to attempt to distract the players in the squad from their futures and those of their teammates by getting them to fully focus on Stoke City.

The Potters have made an impressive and unexpected perfect start to the Championship campaign, and Mason will know this will arguably be the toughest challenge of his West Brom career.

Speaking ahead of the game, as reported by the club media, Mason said: “Stoke play with a lot of intensity; they’re well-organised, and they’ve got some really good individual players.

“They’re in a good moment. When you win three in a row and you start the season so well, it creates a good feeling. We’re in a good moment too, and we’ll attack the game too.”
