It’s slowly becoming an incredible summer for Swansea City.
Since Luke Williams was sacked and replaced by Alan Sheehan, the South Wales outfit have started to find themselves on an upward trend.
Luka Modric is now a minority shareholder at the Swans and it is clear that this exciting board development is having an impact on the players who the club have been able to bring in already in the summer transfer window.
Two new defenders have already landed at the Swansea.com Stadium in the form of Ricardo Santos and the very impressive Cameron Burgess. However, it is the arrival of a new midfielder that will help transform this team.

Swansea City have an excellent player in Ethan Galbraith
After a late but unsuccessful push for the play-offs last season, in 2025/26 Swansea have one clear goal following seven years outside the Premier League. The addition of Ethan Galbraith will help do that, with the 24-year-old joining the club for a fee that BBC News reported to be £1.5m.

Signed from Leyton Orient, his former boss Richie Wellens is a huge fan and made it clear just how special he is back in September after a 4-1 win over Stockport County. He said (via: Newham Recorder): “We know how good Ethan is, he can play wherever he wants, he’s got the ability.
“When he’s at this level, he has to do two or three things. He has to win promotion with us to get to the next level or he has to get goals and assists.
“When you watch him, you think ‘he’s a player’, but when you start getting numbers too, people get onto that and then someone will come in for him. I’m not trying to sell him here but he’s unbelievable. He is an unbelievable talent – energy, sharpness, touch, control, skill.”

Alan Sheehan can bring the good times back for the Swans
With their wait for Premier League football coming towards the eight-year mark, there is no denying that Swansea have to take that next step sooner rather than later.
In Sheehan they have a head coach who can galvanise a team, but he also has the tactical ability to change the fortunes of a side – as seen last year.

Bringing in another quality number nine is an obvious desire, but with Galbraith in midfield, the Swans are developing a starting XI that does not have a weak point.
With a month to go until the first Championship fixtures of the season, there is still plenty of time to work on this squad. However, it must be said that Swansea are becoming a bit of a dark horse and they will be challenging for the top six in 2025/26.
