Derby County face Wrexham on Saturday afternoon at the Racecourse Ground, as John Eustace looks for back-to-back away wins in the Championship.
The Rams were beaten 1-0 by Preston North End at Pride Park in their most recent league fixture, and Lewis Travis has called for improvements ahead of his team’s trip to Wales.
Derby have dominated Wrexham on previous occasions, and Phil Parkinson has struggled against the Rams, but the Red Dragons are full of confidence after an excellent 3-2 win over Norwich City.
It’s going to be an exciting contest, and the East Midlands outfit can move out of the bottom three with a win. However, Josh Windass will be keen to repeat his trick against the Rams from January this weekend.

Josh Windass scored a stunning goal for Sheffield Wednesday vs Derby County in January
Back in January, Derby kicked off 2025 away at Sheffield Wednesday. Despite Paul Warne’s side ending 2024 in a relatively positive manner, they were rocked at Hillsborough.

The Owls ran out 4-2 winners in S6, and while the Rams did score a late consolation goal at 4-1 to ease some of the damage, it was an incredible strike by Windass that stole the show.
Barry Bannan had handed the home side the lead inside the first eight minutes, and it took until the hour mark for Sheffield Wednesday to double their advantage – but double it they did. Windass received the ball inside his own half, and spotting Jacob Widell Zetterstrom off his line, he fired the ball goalwards.
It landed perfectly into the back of the net, shocking everyone, including himself. Yet, for Derby they will remember that moment and they cannot afford to let the versatile attacker have that much time on the ball this weekend.

Josh Windass is on a strong run against Derby County
This will be the 10th time that Windass has faced the Rams in his career, and while he does only have two goals against them, he is on a four-game unbeaten run versus Derby.
He has won four of those nine games so far, drawing two and losing three. However, while playing for Sheffield Wednesday, the 31-year-old did suffer relegation at Pride Park in the 2020/21 campaign.

This will only give him more motivation to succeed at the Racecourse Ground this weekend, with Wrexham looking for their second win in a row.
Derby showed an interest in Windass in the summer, providing a further twist to the tale, and the former Owl will be keen to show the Rams what they missed out on.
