Leicester City cult-hero Jamie Vardy has already left the club, and as he looks towards his next club, he could finally have a replacement found at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City are keen to add a forward to their ranks before the summer transfer window draws to a close.

Whilst the Foxes have undergone a positive start to the 2025/26 Championship campaign, they have noticeably been unable to fill the void left by Jamie Vardy after he departed Leicester City this summer.

Jordan Ayew is yet to hit the heights whilst at Leicester City, and the Foxes are monitoring their options as a result.

One Argentinian forward has been identified to add to the Foxes squad, and such a move may be a sign that Vardy’s replacement has finally been found.

Jamie Vardy successor may have been found as Leicester City target Julian Carranza

As reported by reputable journalist César Luis Merlo on X, Leicester City are reportedly in ‘advanced negotiations’ with Argentinian talent Julian Carranza from Eredivisie side Feyenoord.

Talks with the 25-year-old are in the ‘final stage’ as both clubs look to reach an agreement.

The potential Leicester City signing looks set to see Marti Cifuentes’ side finally replace Jamie Vardy, as the Foxes prepare for life without the veteran Fox.

Carranza has been previously regarded as an ‘aggressive’ forward with great ‘potential’, as said by his former sporting director, Ernst Tanner, at Philadelphia, via Philly Soccer.

Julian Carranza could be a brilliant Jamie Vardy replacement

Feyenoord forward Julian Carranza looks set to arrive at Leicester City with a wealth of experience, having played predominantly in the MLS.

In the USA, Carranza played 112 games, which saw him score 37 in the MLS for both Philadelphia and Inter Miami.

At Philadelphia, he was particularly prolific, scoring 43 and assisting 20 in 95 games in all competitions before earning a move to Feyenoord.

His time at Feyenoord has seen the striker score just five in 30, but the majority of games saw him come off the bench and utilised as a super-sub.

Carranza has proven to be a big-game player, as Jamie Vardy was, having scored the decisive goal that saw Feyenoord progress in the Champions League ahead of AC Milan last season when coming off the bench.

Leicester need someone through the door with his proven ability, and hopefully a deal can be wrapped up soon.
