Swansea City are preparing for a big summer transfer window, with Alan Sheehan looking to take the club back towards the play-off places in 2025/26.
The Swans ended last season excellently, and following Luke Williams’ sacking, they were able to push away from the relegation battle and towards mid-table – even looking as though a late top six charge was on the cards.

Nevertheless, they will be more than ready for the challenge that awaits them in the second tier once again, but they are a club with changing ambitions after Luka Modric joined as a minority shareholder.
With the Croatia and Real Madrid legend on board, a move for a former Swansea favourite should be on the cards this summer, with the defender bringing Europa League winning experience with him back to Wales.
Swansea City must push to sign Ben Davies this summer
Ben Davies’ Tottenham Hotspur contract is due to expire at the end of this season, and all signs point to a departure for the veteran centre-back, who can also fill in on the left.

Injuries have been a major problem for Spurs all season long, and the 32-year-old has also been a victim of that. But, his quality cannot be denied when he is fit, and with opportunities unlikely for him in North London, a move back home could be the perfect way for him to see out his career.
While a deal is extremely ambitious, Swansea will be hoping that their position with Modric and the improvements already seen under Sheehan would be able to entice stars with the credentials of Davies – and stranger things have happened in the Championship before.
The 93-time capped Wales international showed a small sign of appreciation to his former club during his interview following Spurs’ victory over Manchester United: “I was emotional, I’ve given this club (Tottenham) 11 years of my life.
“It’s become my club, along with the Swans, I will have to say. I’ve worked hard, I’ve dreamt of a moment like this for this club. We’ve come close a few times but it’s really special and I’m over the moon.”

Harry Darling will leave space for Ben Davies
Swansea look to be in need of a new centre-back in the summer, with Harry Darling’s future at the club uncertain.
Losing the defender is going to hit hard, but Davies has more than enough quality plus all the experience needed to help the Swans recover from the loss of the 25-year-old and help them on their path back to the Premier League.
Leaders are needed, and their former hero can be that. But, they will face competition for his signature if Tottenham do not hand him a new contract and they will have to work hard to prove they have all the capabilities of achieving their goals in the coming years to entice him back to South Wales.
