The atmosphere around Ewood Park is already fraught with uncertainty this summer, as Blackburn Rovers have seen several familiar faces depart.
Danny Batth’s departure from Ewood Park to Derby County has been a significant loss, as has Andreas Weimann’s move from Blackburn to Derby County, which has left some fans sad to see them both go.
Now, it appears the club are facing another potential exit, which is causing frustration among the fans.
Earlier today, news broke that a significant bid from Middlesbrough for a player was rejected.
However, the player in question has made his intentions clear, leading him to refuse to play, leaving fans angry and frustrated.

Callum Brittain refuses to play in light of rejected bid
Blackburn have rejected a bid from Middlesbrough for full-back Callum Brittain.
Brittain asked to speak to Middlesbrough; however, the club have rejected this, meaning Brittain has refused to play in Rovers’ friendly today versus Accrington Stanley, leaving fans fuming and not holding back in their reactions.
One fan said: “Will be sad to see him go, but these things happen. Far better players have come and gone, and I don’t think the RB we’ve just signed is coming to sit on the bench.”
Another said: “Pathetic. Refusing to play.”
“Get him gone, as good as he is, don’t need people who don’t want to be here,” another tweeted.

Callum Brittain’s time at Blackburn Rovers
Callum Brittain arrived at Blackburn Rovers in July 2022, quickly becoming a staple at right-back.
He impressed during his initial seasons, particularly in 2023-24, where he featured 44 times in the Championship. By the 2024-25 campaign, with 33 appearances, two goals, and five assists, he cemented his standing as one of the Championship’s top full-backs.
However, with less than 12 months remaining on his contract, Brittain’s future at Ewood Park is uncertain.
Interest from Middlesbrough is understandable, given Brittain’s strong working relationship with Middlesbrough head coach Rob Edwards, developed during their time at Barnsley.
Rob Edwards’ ambitions for this season at Middlesbrough, offers Brittain a chance to compete at the highest level and solidify his career.
