It’s been a difficult start to the season for Bolton Wanderers in League One, with the Greater Manchester outfit picking up just one win from their first five games.
The Trotters left it late to pick up a point against Lincoln City at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Saturday, with a 97th minute Tom Draper own goal cancelling out Freddie Draper’s opener.
The Imps had taken the lead inside the first minute, and they looked as though they were going to hold out for all three points, that would have sent them up to fourth in the table, but they were denied in the dying moments.
Nevertheless, Bolton need that moment to be the kickstart for their season, and they are planning to make another move for a player who has been a target throughout the summer.

Bolton Wanderers set to make another offer for Celtic striker Johnny Kenny
Alongside Preston North End, the Trotters have been pursuing Johnny Kenny throughout the last few weeks. However, the Celtic striker signed a new contract with the Scottish giants earlier in August, which was a huge blow for both sides.

Nevertheless, Bolton remain committed to their plan of bringing the 22-year-old to the club before deadline day, and according to Alan Nixon, they are planning another bid.
He said: “Bolton are refusing to give up on Celtic striker Johnny Kenny.
“Wanderers are planning one final move to land the forward, who has signed an extended deal since they began their pursuit, but could yet be surplus this season.”

Johnny Kenny has high ambitions at Celtic
Kenny scored for Celtic on Saturday, finding the back of the net in the final 15 minutes to seal the deal on a 3-0 victory for the Scottish champions against Livingston – a result that saw the Bhoys extend their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to two points.
However, with a week still to go in the transfer window, Brendan Rodgers may still be keen on finding another quality striker to fill his squad, which could leave the Republic of Ireland forward surplus to requirements.

Therefore, a loan move still may be possible for Bolton. Yet, Kenny has huge ambitions at Celtic, and after signing his contract he said (via: Daily Mail): “All I wanted to do was commit my future to this club and I’m delighted it’s done now.
“I feel really proud. I spoke to the manager at the start of the summer and it was a case of tying it all together. I like to think I can score goals and the manager believes in me, too, so that helps when I’m in and around the box, knowing the manager backs me.
“I want to achieve everything possible at this club. I want to play Champions League football, win every trophy available and score goals. That’s my aim.”
