Steven Schumacher is set to add vast Championship experience to his ranks, with Bolton Wanderers closing in on a new full-back.
Bolton Wanderers are set for a busy transfer deadline day as Steven Schumacher looks to add more squad depth before the window slams shut.
They have already signed Marcus Forss on loan from Middlesbrough, with Schumacher keen to have more attacking options at his disposal.
It is expected that Forss, who boasts vast Championship experience, will provide competition for fellow new arrival Sam Dalby, who is yet to get off the mark in a Bolton shirt so far.
Bolton Wanderers have not stopped there with their business as they now look likely to add one defender with 331 Championship appearances, as well as Premier League experience to their side.

Bolton Wanderers ‘poised to sign’ former Fulham star Cyrus Christie ahead of deadline
As revealed on X by Pete O’Rourke, Bolton Wanderers are poised to sign former Fulham, Nottingham Forest and Swansea City star Cyrus Christie on a free transfer.
Christie, 32, is a free agent following his spell at Swansea City in the 2024/25 season, which succeeded two years at fellow Championship side Hull City.
The right-back has been a stalwart in Championship football since the 2014/15 season, barring one campaign in the Premier League with Fulham in 2018/19, and that has led to him accumulating a vast number of appearances in the second tier.
Christie will provide immense experience to Schumacher’s backline, having played for seven different clubs at Championship level.

Steven Schumacher has already been told why Cyrus Christie is a brilliant signing
At the age of 32, Cyrus Christie still has plenty more to give, and it looks set to be a brilliant coup for a team at League One level.
Only last year, he provided an impact for Swansea City, although was unable to play too often for them.
His former boss, Luke Williams, gave an incredible sell of the defender after speaking to the BBC.
“There’s a lot that we like about Cyrus,” said Williams last season.
“He’s looking sharp, he is in good condition and we know how good he is as a player and what a great guy he is.”
For League One level, Schumacher has done brilliantly to identify Christie to add to his ranks as a player who has already proven himself in the Championship, let alone the third tier.
