Ahead of the transfer window opening and the chaos that brings, EFL Analysis has exclusive information regarding one move that could fly under the radar, as a Non-League star prepares to climb the football ladder.

Most of the clubs from the Championship, League One, and League Two already know their fate ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, with only the play-offs in each division left to thrash out.

It figures, then, that most of those teams are getting to work on preparing for the transfer business they want to conduct over the summer.

While some of the best players in the Championship are likely to secure big moves to the Premier League over the next few months, we can also expect one of the top talents in Non-League football to attract a lot of attention, too.

Jack Taylor being tracked by clubs from top to bottom

With inside information from our resident transfer expert Graeme Bailey, we can reveal that there are teams from Premier League giants to League Two outfits keeping a close eye on Sutton United starlet, Jack Taylor.

EFL Analysis can exclusively reveal that Taylor, who spent the first half of the season on loan at Hampton and Richmond, has caught the eye after being recalled and establishing himself in the first team at Sutton under Steve Morison’s guidance.

We understand Taylor has been attracting interest from the likes of Tottenham Hotspur, West Ham, and Brentford, who have all made their checks on the 20-year-old, while Championship sides Bristol City, Millwall, and Portsmouth are also keen.

Meanwhile, Peterborough United, Cambridge United, and MK Dons are among those from lower down in the Football League who are potentially ready to make a move for the defender.

Taylor is heading into the final year of his current contract, and while National League side Sutton want to tie him down with a new deal, it is thought the lure of the professional game will be enough to tempt Taylor away this summer.

Remembering Jamie Vardy’s rise from Non-League to superstardom

Jack Taylor could well become a star if and when he makes the step up from the National League, but he’s got big boots to fill if he wants to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Jamie Vardy.

Vardy worked his way up from playing for Non-League outfits Stocksbridge Park Steels and Halifax Town, before really making a name for himself at Fleetwood Town.

His impressive form there was enough to earn him a £1m move to Leicester City, a transfer record for Non-League football at the time.

From there, of course, Vardy would establish himself as one of the Premier League’s greatest-ever strikers, breaking goalscoring records (scoring in 11 consecutive games is still a record he holds), winning the league title, and also lifting the FA Cup.

Add to this the fact he represented, and scored for, England at major tournaments, and you have quite literally the most amazing rags to riches footballing story of all time.

Jamie Vardy is an absolute icon, and the fact he is leaving Leicester for pastures new this summer means that story could well have a few more twists and turns.

A tough act to follow, Jack Taylor. Now let’s see where he ends up this summer to start his own fairytale story.
