Departing Watford striker is set to break a transfer record, his medical is next week

Watford have been active in the transfer window so far this summer as they look to push up the Championship table in 2025/26.

After Tom Cleverley’s surprise sacking at the end of last season, Paulo Pezzolano now must find a way to steady the ship at Vicarage Road and he will be looking to strengthen his team all the way until the transfer window slams shut at 7pm on 1 September.

The Hornets have received a seven-figure windfall following Joao Pedro’s move to Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion, and they have already brought in Vivaldo Semedo from Udinese up front.

However, with a new striker joining, one is departing and there is a fresh update on Mileta Rajovic’s move to Poland.

Mileta Rajovic is set to leave Watford for €3m

The 25-year-old spent the majority of last season out on loan at Brondby in his home country of Denmark, and he had a decent return scoring five goals in 15 games.

However, there is seemingly no place for him back at Watford, and he is now set to join Legia Warsaw for a fee of €3m (£2.59m), according to Tomasz Włodarczyk.

If everything goes as expected, then Rajovic’s deal would be a record in Poland’s top division, Ekstraklasa, with the forward’s medical expected to be completed next week when he travels to the country.

The player has agreed a four-year deal with Warsaw, and will depart Watford after just 48 appearances and 14 goals.

Mileta Rajovic could have been a star at Vicarage Road

After a good first season with the Hornets, the Danish ace may have expected to play a significant role in the Championship in 2024/25.

However, the decision was made to send him out on loan, while the club perhaps struggled for depth at times in the forward positions. But with Semedo now through the door in Hertfordshire, the game time that Rajovic would get may decrease.

Nevertheless, supporters may feel as though the striker should have been given the chance to shine at Watford, but they are gaining a healthy fee from the deal.
