Portsmouth did well to stay in the Championship last season having come up from League One, but they’ll have to do it all over again in 2025/26.
In many ways, Portsmouth may find it even more difficult to survive next season. While weaker teams have gone down, Birmingham and Wrexham are expected to be big players in the new campaign.
John Mousinho played a blinder signing Josh Murphy last summer, but he will need more reinforcements this year to take Pompey to the next level.
With the summer transfer window now in full swing, we finally have news of some incomings and outgoings at Fratton Park. Here’s the rundown of what’s going on there.

Portsmouth incomings this summer
John Mousinho has added one player to his squad now this summer, with Australian starlet Adrian Segečić arriving from Sydney FC.
Upon confirming the move, Mousinho said: “Adrian is a really exciting young player – one of the hottest prospects coming out of Australia at the moment… We’ve already had some success with bringing people over from that part of the world and we hope that Adrian can now make a real impact.”
Players Portsmouth have signed this summer:
- Adrian Segečić (Undisclosed fee from Sydney FC)
Every confirmed Portsmouth exit this summer
With one striker coming in, it makes sense that another has left the club. On the same day as Segečić was announced, Portsmouth confirmed the departure of Christian Saydee.
We exclusively revealed Saydee was wanted by Wigan earlier this week, and that move has now come to fruition. He will take up the number 9 shirt at Wigan, after moving for an undisclosed fee.
Meanwhile, Pompey released five players at the end of their contracts this month: Cohen Bramall, Tom Lowery, Alexander Milošević, Anthony Scully, and Kusini Yengi.

The latest Portsmouth transfer rumours
Portsmouth have not been the busiest club in the market this summer, so there are not that many rumours to discuss.
However, we do know Pompey are interested in Jamal Lowe. The Sheffield Wednesday man played at Fratton Park before, and could return to the club.
