Mark Robins has enjoyed a pretty successful transfer window as Stoke City manager.

Divin Mubama joined Stoke on loan from Manchester City and exciting defender Maksym Talovierov has also signed from Plymouth Argyle.

Stoke have also lost Wouter Burger to Hoffenheim and have been looking for replacements.

Tomas Rigo of Banik Ostrava has been tipped to be the chosen replacement with expert Jonny Davies saying Rigo would be a ‘steal’ for the Potters.

As rumours continue to rumble on, Davies has given the lowdown on the type of player that could be coming to Staffordshire.

What can Stoke City fans expect from Tomas Rigo?

Davies is a Stoke fan working in the Czech Republic for Slavia Prague as their academy talent manager, where he came across a young Rigo.

The midfielder has since gone on to join Banik where he has impressed and Davies believes that he would be the ideal candidate to replace Burger.

Speaking to the Stoke Sentinel, he said: “Tomas is a very creative player, but what you also get is a lot of bravery on the ball.

“He’s technically gifted, so his first touch and his passing range are very good. It all means he’s quite exciting to watch. He plays a bit of a hybrid role for Ostrava, so he’s equally as good as a kind of deep-lying playmaker.

“He keeps the ball moving and has this long passing range so is able to play the ball over long distances, but then he’s also able to play higher up between the lines too.

“He has the vision to receive the ball in small spaces and play intricate kind of penetrative passes in the final third, so I would say being in possession is his main strength.”

Mark Robins wants more additions at Stoke City

Five players have joined Stoke this summer and it seems like there are no plans to stop there.

Derby County await the Potters in the first game of the season and Robins hopes to have more bodies, which could include Rigo, in time for this weekend.

“We have designs on further additions. We need that, we need the depth,” he said.

“We’ve seen on Saturday, with overnight illness, you’re down to the minimum again. We’ve got five out and we’re still looking to do some business before the season starts next week.”
