Hull City have been limited this summer in what they can do in the transfer market following the placement of an embargo on the club impacting them for the next three windows.
The Tigers are set to appeal the transfer embargo, as they announced through a statement put out through public channels; however, they can bring players in for free.
The club’s chairman has hit out at the ‘misinformation’ around Hull’s current financial state.
It has not stopped their players from being the subject of interest, with Sean McLoughlin the latest player to leave the club as he departed for Blackburn Rovers.

However, his deal was nowhere near the sales Hull have made in the past, with a number of players fetching considerable fees.

5. Jaden Philogene – £13.9 million
Jaden Philogene joined Hull in September 2023, after he struggled to get minutes at Aston Villa, with the Tigers bringing him in after he impressed in the Championship with both Stoke City and Cardiff City on loan.
The winger would spend a season at the Tigers, and he impressed during his spell, as he scored 12 goals across 32 matches in that campaign.
This garnered interest in him in the summer of 2024, and he would leave Hull to re-join Aston Villa for a significant profit for the Championship side.
He has since left Villa and is now playing his football with Ipswich Town.
4. Sam Clucas – £14.1 million
He left the club for a fee of £14.1 million to join Swansea City in the Premier League after Hull were relegated to the Championship ahead of the 2017/18 season.
Sam Clucas impressed for Hull City in the Premier League after he helped them earn promotion the year before.

He proved to be a great signing from Chesterfield in July 2015, as he would feature in 96 matches for the Tigers.
The midfielder is currently playing his football with Shrewsbury Town in League Two, after joining them in May 2025.
3. Keane Lewis-Potter – £16.5 million
Keane Lewis-Potter operated as a tricky winger for Hull City as he came through the youth academy ranks.
The underage England star had a significant impact at Hull, as he impressed across three seasons in both the Championship and League One.
He left the club in the summer of 2022 to join Brentford in the Premier League for a fee of £16.5 million.
Since then, he has thrived with the London club, being used predominantly as a wing-back due to their tactical system.
2. Jarrod Bowen – £18.5 million
Jarrod Bowen has gone from strength to strength since leaving Hull City, as he has lifted European silverware and earned several England caps.
West Ham bought the clinical wide player in January 2020 after he had been thriving for Hull City in the Championship, scoring 54 goals in 122 matches.

A huge fee was spent by West Ham for the Championship star, as Hull were not willing to accept a small fee for their key man.
Hull made a significant profit on Bowen after they signed him from Hereford United for free after they were expelled from the Football Conference in June 2014.
1. Jacob Greaves – £18.7 million
Jacob Greaves is the most expensive sale Hull City have ever made when they sold the defender to Ipswich Town in the summer of 2024.
The defender spent four seasons at Hull in the senior team after coming through their youth ranks.
He was a rock at the back during this period and earned a move to Ipswich after proving to be one of the best defenders in the Championship during his time with Hull, being named in the EFL Championship Team of the Season for the 2023–24 campaign.
Greaves would make a total of 177 appearances for his boyhood club and captained the club on his 200th career appearance, scoring a brace in that match against Huddersfield Town.
