The transfer battle for Richard Kone is starting to speed up as the weeks tick by in the summer transfer window.
EFL Analysis revealed in March that at least 10 clubs were interested in the Wycombe Wanderers striker, and five months later, he remains one of the most sought-after strikers in the EFL.
Swansea City took the lead in the race for the 22-year-old last week, with Middlesbrough, Norwich City and Leicester City also keen, with the latter now looking the most likely destination.
However, the Championship sides have now been boosted by a major update regarding the future of Kone at Adams Park.

Wycombe Wanderers have lowered the upfront cost they want for Richard Kone
After Swansea tabled a £4.5m bid, as per BBC Sport, it looked as though Wycombe were holding out for £5m. However, it has now been reported by Ron Walker that the League One side are looking for an initial £3m.

Add-ons are also wanted, with our Chief Football Correspondent Graeme Bailey confirming to EFL Analysis that the Chairboys will listen to any offers that start with that £3m.
Leicester have overtaken Swansea in terms of being the favourites for a move, with Kone keen on a move to the King Power Stadium.
The Foxes are pushing for the 22-year-old whether Patson Daka stays in the East Midlands or not, and this will be very enticing for the Wycombe star.

Marti Cifuentes will be keen to get a deal sorted quickly
Leicester face Sheffield Wednesday at home on Sunday afternoon, with Marti Cifuentes’ side heading into the clash as heavy favourites due to their opponents’ off-field problems.

The Owls players will not boycott the game, despite cancelling a friendly with Burnley last weekend, and Foxes supporters will be dreaming of a strong showing on their own patch.
Now, they will be hoping that they can capture Kone sooner rather than later to ensure that their promotion ambitions are fulfilled by the time May comes around, as they look for their long-term Jamie Vardy replacement.
