Norwich City are going all out for promotion in the summer transfer window.

It’s been three years since the Canaries were relegated from the Premier League, but with a handsome transfer budget, Liam Manning is working quickly to get his squad prepared for the new season.

Borja Sainz has been linked with Porto, and keeping hold of the Spaniard looks to be near-impossible while Josh Sargent is well-liked by Leeds United.

Nevertheless, Norwich appear to have found a new goalscoring threat ahead of 2025/26, and supporters are extremely excited about his official announcement.

Norwich City fans react as Mathias Kvistgaarden is unveiled as a Canary

Ben Knapper found a £6.9m release clause in Mathias Kvistgaarden’s contract at Brondby, and they activated it, allowing the Canaries to beat French side Lens to the signature of the striker.

The Dane has signed a four-year deal at Carrow Road, and Norwich’s new number 30 has received a warm welcome from fans already.

A second supporter wrote: “This has the potential to be an incredible signing.”

While a third said: “Great signing.”

“Honestly, every hair standing on end,” another wrote.

There have also been messages sent from Brondby fans: “Take good care of him,” one put.

Mathias Kvistgaarden is the key to the Canaries’ season

With Sargent highlylikely to leave, there was some pressure on bringing in a new striker who will take on the responsibility of scoring on a consistent basis.

Kvistgaarden will have to hit the ground running at Carrow Road, but Manning can help him adjust to the Championship in the coming weeks as pre-season steps up in intensity.

At 23, the Danish forward is at an excellent age to continue his development in England and surely a top six spot is the minimum target for Norwich in 2025/26.
