Blackburn Rovers have had some activity in the summer transfer window so far and look set to continue after bringing in two new signings already.

Dion de Neve joined Rovers from KV Kortrijk on a three-year deal as Valérien Ismaël looks to shape his squad to his liking in the summer transfer window.

Sidnei Tavares was next in the door as he signed from Portuguese side Moreirense.

However, the Lancashire club seem to be in need of central defenders, as Danny Batth doesn’t appear to be staying at the club as rumours of him joining Derby County persist.

This has seen Blackburn Rovers linked with replacements, the most noteworthy being Steve Kapuadi, with fans giving their opinions on the rumours.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to Lancashire to bolster Valerien Ismael’s squad ahead of the upcoming campaign, and he has had his say about the rumours.

The DR Congo international has spoken about the links to Blackburn Rovers, as he has also been offered a new deal to remain at Legia Warsaw.

Kapuadi has not yet ruled out a move to the Lancashire club at this point, but he does not seem overly optimistic about a move transpiring.

Speaking to TVP Sport, he said: “Blackburn? Maybe it’s even a bit too late for that question. Honestly, I don’t have much to comment on.

“What is my transfer situation? I can’t say anything special. I’m in Legia, and I try to enjoy every moment of my life.

“I can confirm that I have received an offer of a new contract from Legia. Everything is possible.

“I have been playing in Warsaw for two seasons, and I am enjoying this time. The topic is open.”

Steve Kapuadi’s career stats

The 27-year-old impressed last season in Poland with Legia Warsaw, despite the club only finishing fifth in the Polish top flight last season.

Steve Kapuadi has had a well-travelled career to this point, beginning it at Gent in 2016 before moving to Inter Bratislava in 2019, before transferring to their partner club the next year, Trenčín.

At Trenčín he would play 25 times across two seasons before leaving Slovakia for Poland to join Wisła Płock, where he would spend a season.

In 2023, Legia Warsaw would sign the 27-year-old, and it is where he has remained since, with the defender impressing in the club’s European campaign in the Europa Conference League this season.

It looks likely he will extend his stay in Poland, but Rovers fans may be hopeful that he opts to move to Lancashire to help ease their defensive concerns.
