Blackburn Rovers need more reinforcements at Ewood Park.

It’s been a strange summer for the Lancashire outfit, and the transfer window has been an unexpected one for Valerien Ismael.

Tyrhys Dolan has left the club in search of a new challenge, while supporters are angry with Callum Brittain after he refused to play a pre-season friendly as he awaits a move to Middlesbrough.

Andreas Weimann has also departed, joining Danny Batth at Derby County and finding cover at centre-back is something that Ismael needs to do. Now, Blackburn have found their man.

Blackburn Rovers register interest in Colin Rosler

With Batth gone, Rovers have work to do to find a replacement. However, they have identified that player, with Sporbladet reporting that the Championship side are interested in Colin Rosler.

Born in Germany, the centre-back plays his international football for Norway, while he features for Swedish outfit Malmo at club level.

The report states that Blackburn have made contact over a move, but it is not yet known how willing Malmo are to sell the defender who has played 13 times in Allsvenskan – the top division in Sweden.

He only made the switch to his current club last summer, having previously played for Mjallby, a team in the same league. However, he does have ties to England.

Colin Rosler is the son of former Wigan Athletic boss Uwe Rosler

The last name of Rosler will be familiar to those in the Championship, with the 25-year-old the son of ex-Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler.

He took the Latics to the Championship play-offs in 2014, while also managing the club in the Europa League after their FA Cup triumph the year prior.

They were ultimately beaten by QPR, who went on to win the final at Wembley against Derby. Bobby Zamora scored one of the great play-off final goals that day, as Wigan watched on from Greater Manchester.

Now, another member of the Rosler family may get their shot at the Championship, and he could be the perfect replacement for Batth.
