Millwall have confirmed the signing of Alfie Doughty from Luton Town.
It’s a signing that will worry Matt Bloomfield, and the Hatters’ promotion plans have been hit hard in recent weeks with Carlton Morris joining Derby County, while Thelo Aasgaard has made the switch to Rangers.
The Lions, however, are looking stronger and stronger. Josh Coburn is a statement signing for Alex Neil, and after missing out on a play-off place on the last day of the season, the South London outfit are a dark horse for the top six in 2025/26.
Millwall supporters have taken to social media to welcome their new signing, and hopes are high that he will hit the ground running.

Doughty seemed incredibly likely to leave Luton this summer after impressing in the Premier League during the 2023/24 campaign. Injuries made it difficult for him to find momentum last season, but now he has a fresh start in the Championship.

It’s an extremely exciting addition for Millwall, and fans can’t wait to see him feature at The Den.
While another put: “Was being tipped to be in the England set up only a year-and-a-half ago. Huge signing.”
As a third said: “What a signing.”

Alfie Doughty has joined his boyhood club
Millwall are on an upward trajectory at the moment, and their supporters are dreaming of Premier League football finally making its way to The Den in the future.
Doughty can help them achieve that dream, having played a key role in Luton’s promotion to the top flight in 2022/23.

Now, the versatile wide player has made his way to South London and he will feature for the club that he supported as a youngster. According to Steve Gallen, the Director of Football at Millwall, this helped the Lions in their pursuit of the 25-year-old.
Keeping on top of his own fitness is Doughty’s greatest challenge, but if he can do that, then his new team could well be in the fight for a play-off finish.
