Wrexham have been incredibly busy in the transfer market this summer as they look to build a squad able to compete in the Championship.
The Red Dragons did secure their first win in the second tier for 43 years, after they beat Millwall at the weekend 2-0.
Goals came from two of their summer signings, as Kieffer Moore continued his fine form since joining the Welsh club, while Lewis O’Brien scored late to secure their first Championship victory of the campaign.
Wrexham have already spent heavily this summer, and in doing so, they have become one of the most desirable clubs to join, and that continues to be the case, as they will have beaten Championship rivals to their latest signing.
Wrexham set to sign Issa Kabore
It has been reported on social media by Ben Jacobs that Wrexham are ‘closing in’ on signing Issa Kabore from Manchester City on a season-long loan.
The youthful full-back is set to make a loan move to Wrexham, meaning the Red Dragons beat out Championship rivals to achieve this deal.
Both Ipswich Town and Leicester City were in the race to sign the player; however, Wrexham look to be about to make a statement signing by beating the two clubs that had just been relegated from the Premier League.
Kabore has been on loan several times since he joined Manchester City in 2020, with his most memorable coming in 2023, when he joined Luton Town as they won promotion to the Premier League, and he made a strong impression at Kenilworth Road.
Who is Issa Kabore?
Wrexham fans will be pleased to know that Issa Kabore impressed for Luton Town in the Premier League under Rob Edwards.
While there may be a slight concern over his two short loan spells at Werder Bremen and Benfica and the fact that he is yet to play in the Football League, there will be faith in the fact that he is highly thought of by Manchester City.

Kabore also has an impressive 49 caps for Burkina Faso with two goals despite only being 24 years old, demonstrating the belief those who have coached him from a young age have had in his ability.
He can operate as either a right back or a wing back, allowing him to easily fit into the multiple systems that manager Phil Parkinson likes to deploy with Wrexham.
