Rob Edwards has spoken for the first time since being appointed as the new Middlesbrough manager.
EFL Analysis confirmed that Edwards would be appointed by Middlesbrough after they made the decision to sack Michael Carrick at the end of last season.
Danny Rohl was one of the names in contention for the job at the Riverside Stadium but in the end they decided to pick the former Luton Town boss as their choice to navigate the 2025/26 Championship season.
Edwards has been tasked with taking Boro to the Premier League in his first season in charge and following confirmation of his appointment, has spoken to supporters for the first time.

After being unveiled by the Teessiders, Edwards spoke to the club website for the first time.
He said: “It’s a real privilege to be given the opportunity to be head coach of this great football club. It’s something that’s not lost on me, how big this is, how important this is, and what it means to people. There is an amazing fanbase.
“It felt instantly that this was right for me and it got me excited. If I was going to come back in, I wanted to come back in at a place where we had a chance, and we have a really good chance here.

“We have a brilliant owner who historically gives his coaches time, support, and the tools needed to try and be successful. I can’t wait to get started now.”

As well as the confirmation of a new manager, Middlesbrough have also revealed who will be a part of his coaching team.
Adi Viveash and Harry Watling have both joined the backroom staff with us confirming that Watling would join.
