Bristol City began their latest Championship campaign against the side that ended their last one, Sheffield United.
However, this time they look like they will be getting revenge against the Blades, as they won 4-1 at the break, a vast improvement on their 6-0 aggregate defeat in the play-off semi-final last season.
It was a fantastic start for the new manager, Gerhart Struber, as he watched his team go toe to toe with a side much fancied for promotion, delivering on his promise regarding the style of play Bristol City would adopt.
Scott Twine was pivotal to the victory that Bristol City got over Sheffield United, as he set up their second goal of the game while also beginning and ending their scoring.

Fans have let their feelings be known about his opening goal, with just five minutes on the clock, as he placed a free kick from the edge of the area into the top corner of the net.

Bristol City fans react to Scott Twine’s free kick
Scott Twine and long-range goals have become a constant in the Championship with fans getting used to the player bagging free kicks for Bristol City.
While fans in the Championship may be used to seeing the ball fly into the goal once Twine steps up to take a free kick it does not seem to have stopped fans being amazed at this ability, as seen by their reaction on social media.
One fan said: “Scott Twine & free kicks just outside the box, name a more iconic EFL combo.”
Another fan said: “Scott Twine is genuinely one the best free-kick takers in the world.”
While everyone was in agreement of his ability from a dead ball situation there were fans mentioning that he needs to improve at celebrating.
One fan said: “A lad I worked with said on first day he worked with Scott Twine they give him 10 free kicks and he scored every single one, one of the best free kick takers around. Also, he just nearly done his ACL.”
A Burnley fan suggested that it was a terrible decision to allow Twine to leave the Clarets when he did.
The fan said: “Getting rid of twine has to be one of the most stupid things we have done as a club in a long time.”
Liam Manning spotted the talent in Twine
Twine had been a long-term target for former Bristol City manager Liam Manning, and fans will surely be thankful he pulled out all the stops to sign the midfielder from Burnley.
Speaking to Bristol Live before signing him permanently Manning said: “He had a great relationship with a few of the players and I have a strong relationship with him in terms of trying to get the best out of him.

“With him, you have to give him an element of freedom – the positions he takes up, the risk he takes – someone like him, what you don’t want to do is shackle and restrict him.
“When you look at it, he fits the group, he’s ambitious, he’s driven, he’s still got a lot to prove at this level and when he looks at the group and the staff, how we work and the culture we’ve got, you’ll have to ask him, but I think he feels it’s a really good move for him and his career to help him get where he wants to get, which is aligned with me and the group, and that’s the Premier League.”
